SHIKARPUR: Nasir Mehmood Soomro has said that the by-election of PS-11 Shikarpur-I held on Thursday last in Shikarpur district was high jacked by the PPPP nominated candidate. Addressing a press conference held at Jamia Madani Madarsa here on Saturday late evening, the JUI-F’s defeated candidate said the election was high jacked with the open support of PPP central, provincial and local leaders together with ministers, MNAs, MPAs, Sardars of various communities, and the government machinery. He said the PPPP candidate captured the Provincial Assembly seat through technical rigging while adopting nondemocratic tactics like purchasing votes and misguiding poor people, particularly female community, that their financial aid would be withdrawn. Nasir said he would approach the courts and Election Tribunal for recounting the votes of female voters and verify the thumb impressions of the female voters.
