LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq Saturday said removal of information minister Pervaiz Rasheed over the news feed scandal was no justification for such a serious charge and there should be action against him under the law.
Commenting on the hot issue that has became the talk of the town, the JI chief said the resignation of the information minister denotes that there were some highly irresponsible people in the government who put national security at stake. “This indicates that sometimes, some people would go to any extent to fulfil enemy’s designs”, he said.
He said those named in the Panama leaks were looting national wealth and time had come to drive them out of power. He expressed the hope that the government would take the nation into confidence on the news feed scandal and ensures action under the law. Meanwhile, the JI chief expressed deep sorrow and grief over the killing of five people in a firing incident at a majlis in Karachi on Saturday evening. He said the enemy wanted to plunge the country into sectarian strife. He called upon the Sindh government to trace the culprits and punish them accordingly. He also expressed deep sympathies with the families of those killed.
