LAHORE: Leading business personality Shahbaz Taseer and his wife Maheen Taseer visited the Anjuman Himayat-i-Islam Orphanage here and spent a wonderful time with the children there.
This was the first visit of Shahbaz Taseer since his release from five-year captivity after his decision to resume his humanitarian work by sharing smiles among the children of an orphanage. Accompanied by Maheen, he visited the orphanage and distributed shoe boxes as a part of Operation Eid Child, an endeavour for collecting and distributing gifts on annual festivity to underprivileged children.
For most kids, these shoeboxes are one of the first gifts they have ever received. On auspicious events like Eid, gifts especially event-related gifts make a difference for these kids who feel this as part of something bigger. Several notable personalities including Asefa Bhutto contributed in this noble cause. “Asefa Bhutto contributed about 35 boxes for this noble cause,” according to a statement, issued here.
Besides Lahore, different teams were also working in Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar, Maheen said. On the occasion, Shahbaz Taseer said that he feels even more strongly about humanitarian work and how important it is to deliver to the communities and give back.
Maheen Taseer has been visiting this orphanage in the past as well, and the children have prayed endlessly for Shahbaz Taseer and overwhelmed by his presence among them.
