ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Syed Abrar Hussain on Thursday said the Pakistani-funded projects in Kabul’s Health sector would be completed by the end of current year.
He said this during a visit to 300-bed Naib Aminullah Khan Hospital – being built by Pakistan – at Logar, a message received from Kabul said.
Hussain said Pakistan had built a number of projects in Afghanistan in the health and education sectors, including Liaquat Ali Khan University in Balkh, Allama Mohammad Iqbal Faculty in Kabul University, Sir Syed Post Graduate Faculty of Sciences, Nangarhar University, Rehman Baba Hostel and School in Kabul, Nishtar Kidney Centre in Jalalabad, 400-Bed Jinnah Hospital in Kabul and a 300-bed Naib Aminullah Khan Hospital at Logar.
He expressed optimism that the projects would significantly contribute to the social and economic development of Afghanistan. Highlighting the importance of the Naib Aminullah Khan Hospital, he expressed the hope that the hospital would not only cater to the needs of the people of Logar but also to the adjacent provinces.
“Similarly, the people of Kabul would also enormously benefit from the 400-Bed Jinnah Hospital,” he added.
The ambassador said both the hospitals would be fully equipped with the latest technology providing various services to the patients. He also emphasised the need for closer cooperation between the two neighbouring countries and said that both the countries could benefit from each other in various fields.
Hussain said the destinies of the two countries were inter-linked and Pakistan had been endeavouring to work for the promotion of peace, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan. He visited various sections of the hospital and reviewed progress of work. He directed the contractors to complete the remaining work before the year’s end.
