KARACHI: According to Sindh Transport Minister Mumtaz Jakhrani, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will inaugurate the Karachi Orange Line bus project on Friday.
According to the minister, as many as 50,000 residents of Karachi will be able to commute on a daily basis via the Orange Line bus project when it is finished. 8220;The Orange line project will be from TMA Chowk Orangi Town till the Matric Board Office area,” he said. “A 4.7 kilometer track will be laid down and completed within a span of one year,” he added.
He also said that an amount of Rs 1 billion and 45 crore have been allocated for the Orange Line project. He claimed that the Sindh government had obtained the tender at an amount which saved the government Rs 30 crore and this was for the first time in Sindh that a project was obtained on tender at such a low cost.
